The Boulder Fund - Kalgoorlie Miner Articles

This front page article sets out the locals concerns about the accident and death fund being used to purchase a property and what was then a very expensive piece of office equipment, a $6,000 telex machine.   It seems unreasonable that the contributions that miners made for the sole purpose of handing over a benefit payment to loved ones should be used on office equipment for the broader use of the union.

The date is important, 17 March, 1992.   Just to set the scene, it's 11 days after the ad for the AWU-WRA was run in the West Australian newspaper.
