Leighton Holdings Limited has a strong track record of investing in signs, posters and framed laminated statements with the word INTEGRITY prominently displayed.
So much corporate governance in Australia relates to that sort of spin and PR.
I don't know the truth of the reports in today's Fairfax newspapers but the allegations are grave and the evidence on face value to support them is strong.
It looks like Richard McKenzie and Mark Baker have done a great job in assembling their evidence and reporting it today.
Building giant Leighton rife with corruption: claims
Leighton Holdings Ltd is the corporate entity which controls a subsidiary company Thiess.
It was Thiess that corruptly paid Bruce Wilson. Thiess secretly appointed Wilson as a director of the board of one of its subsidiary companies along with Robyn McLeod. (note to my readers, do you think I should put a red exclusive thing on that "secretly being a director of a Thiess company which at the same time receiving corrupt payments from Thiess" story? I honestly sometimes despair at this nation's newsgathering and analysis skills.) Ms McLeod then moved to work as Chief of Staff to the Victorian Government's Minister Candy Broad in the Bracks Labor Government and her job title is recorded here on the table list for the $1,000 per head dinner she attended with Thiess senior executives.
On Wednesday 5 September 2012 I wrote this article setting out the circumstances in which money that was the property of Leighton Holdings Ltd shareowners was corruptly paid to Bruce Morton Wilson through a sham corporate entity which bore the name AWU set up by his corrupt lawyer girl friend Julia Gillard. I detailed the mechanisms through which my readers could contact Leightons Holdings Limited and for those shareholders the means by which their concerns should be raised at the company's AGM.
On Thursday 6 September 2012 I travelled to Brisbane and again contacted Leighton Holding which took no interest in any further action. I recorded this audioboo on 6 September 2012 - for the avoidance of doubt that's more than a year ago - and still nothing.
One week later this piece that describes the players. On Thursday 22 December this piece about Mr Jukes and Mr Trio and the problems they face.
On that same day I wrote an opinion piece
And later in April this year
As I often say to the Czechoslovakian Princess in our times of doubt about this country's willingness to face up to the corruption that sadly involves its former PM - at least we have now moved from a Cabinet and Ministers who want to cover up to a Cabinet and Ministers who want to find out. What they do from that point remains to be seen but the writing on the wall could not be much clearer.
I should have included this imporant element in the Joe Trio history. Two Versions Trio who knew he was dealing with the AWU, or didn't know, or thought he was but maybe it was just Bruce his brother in law.
