Bob Carr's intellect has been set on auto-pilot to seek out, engage with and respond to Middle East tensions and Twitter-friendly phenomena.

While Bob's taking care of Australia's traditional foreign affairs concerns in Gaza, we will open a new foreign relations frontier here on this blog by engaging with our neighbours in PNG.

I don't know what we will achieve. On department KPIs if we talk a lot we will get our bonuses. Who knows where these conversations will get us - but I think they're important conversations to have.
