We are distorting the economy with government wages that are leading, not trailing the productive economy

How can it be healthy that our highest wage earners are in the ACT? Do we value bureaucracy, policy, administration and enforcement more highly than we value the wealth creating industries that pay for the public service?

This starts at the top - and Gillard's pay packet is as good a place as any to look. Then watch the trickle down to judges, chiefs of departments and police etc.

The attitude is pretty clear - gouge what you can.
