Kevin Rudd has re-aligned some money so that people in PNG get it directly (rather than AUSAid aligning it), then they'll further re-align it, before it's re-aligned abit more.

PNG Prime Minister Peter O'Neill yesterday declared he had achieved a “realignment” of Australia's $500m aid program under his asylum-seeker deal with Kevin Rudd.

He said his government “will now set all the priorities” under which Australian aid money would be spent in corruption-prone PNG.

The aid concession is in return for PNG agreeing to take all new boatpeople who arrive in Australia.

Mr Abbott said today it was time for Mr Rudd to “come clean” and provide full details of his undertakings to Mr O'Neill.

“Australian aid should never be a free gift to a foreign government,” the Opposition Leader said.

`We should never be making simple cash advances to a foreign government.”
