The venue. An exclusive, male only Sydney club with a concierge and stainless steel containers of salami and cheese cubes on the bar.

The event - the Craig Thomson Gala. A night of nights dedicated to speeches from Craig's lawyer and Craig. With alternate drop, chicken and beef and drinks at bar prices.

It was the entertainment reporting gig that was too formidable, too intimidating, too much for Richard Wilkins. So Sydney turns to our man on the spot, who was at the City Tatts gym and stopped to phone in this report, live from the Craig Thomson Legal Defence Fund Gala.
