Two academic views on our atmosphere, gases and climate change. Part one - Professor Tim Flannery, Climate Commissioner, Australia
Wednesday, 17 July 2013
On 14 February, 2011 I spoke to Professor Flannery on his appointment as the $180,000 pa part time Chairman of the Climate Commission.
He's just been reappointed until the end of June next year. Here's Greg Combet's letter to the PM and Cabinet recommending Flannery the mammalian expert.
Greg Combet enclosed Professor Flannery's CV. I'd never seen it before. Very good man for jobs looking after stuffed mammals. Climate though? Beyond the understanding of general scientific method, I don't see much Climate expertise such as I would have expected for the nation's Climate Commissioner.
He got the gig though which goes nicely with the Panasonic Chair.
