On Tuesday, 2 August 2011 I made this post on the 2UE blog.
I also delivered this editorial;

And spoke with the Shadow Attorney General Senator the Honourable George Brandis SC
I spoke to NSW Police about what appeared to be a prima facie disclosure of possible criminal offences involving the HSU and its money. I was told that NSW Police would require a complainant, someone who owned the money to attend and advise police of an alleged crime.
This lack of a complainant within the HSU developed into a very big issue.
I took a lot of talk-back callers who were horrified at what they'd heard and were keen for police action, including HSU members.
Then caller Simon rang in:
So NSW Police had an occurence number to note Simon's attendance, but still no investigation into the matters Mr Thomson had disclosed.
I have to confess to some amazement at the way Australia's media works. I'd not really seen a developing story like this one at such close quarters before. It surprised me that all the facts were out there and for about a fortnight there was next to no interest from other media players. There's a real pack or herd mentality in Australia's media with a few noted leaders from whom others take their cue.
Paul Murray had me on his show on Sky TV during that week and Paul's judgement was spot on in predicting that the story would take a while for other media to catch on to.

Please let me know if you find this a useful record of what went on. It's fascinating to hear this all back now for me and it's a labour of love to reassemble what went on.
We're now about 20 days away from the first of the AWU Scandal matters. Some correspondence between me and Ms Gillard will emerge in the next post, leading up to the famed "unauthorised questions" I was alleged by Fairfax to have put to the PM, damaging Fairfax's interests.
More soon.
