South Australia's Independent Commission against Corruption takes 160 complaints in first weeks

South Australia's Independent Commission against Corruption has been busy in its first 3 weeks.   South Australia law prohibits any public commentary that would tend to suggest that a person has been the subject of a complaint to the Commission.   Here's some of News Limited's report today

PUBLIC servants reportedly have made more than 70 complaints to the state's new Independent Commission Against Corruption in its first the three weeks.

The complaints relate to suspected corruption and maladministration.

Commissioner Bruce Lander told The Australian that many had waited for the ICAC to be established rather than take their complaints elsewhere.

"I think a lot of people have been waiting to make a complaint or a report," he said.

"We had tried to make it clear to public authorities of the obligations that they and public officers have for complying with (ICAC's) directions and guidelines."

More than 90 other complaints from the public have also been made to Mr Lander since he began work on September 1.
