Craig Thomson has been granted bail and has lodged an appeal to the County Court of Victoria to be heard 24th November.
His passport has been seized to stop him fleeing to Majorca.
As much as it gets him out today, it's a risky strategy. A higher court can actually increase the sentence which is a rare occurance but it does happen from time to time.
A severity appeal does not allow new evidence to be introduced - only a re-examination of the magistrate's interpretation of the law.
Michael is waiting outside the court for Thomson.
