Bob Carr makes a king sized d-head of himself and suddenly it’s all just a joke and you just didn’t get it because you’re not as enlightened as more intelligent people.

That’s essentially the message coming through in some not so gentle defence of Carr from a few commentators today.

Another from Fairfax, Annabel Crabb: “Life’s too short to be taken seriously”. Reading Carr’s diaries with a large glazed doughnut in one hand and a glass of something fizzy in the other, I cannot help but agree.

"IT’S pretty obvious from the extracts of Bob Carr’s diaries that he is taking the mickey out of himself", Miranda says.

Have a listen to Bob Carr being interviewed by Ben Fordham last week and judge for yourself how much the brilliant one was 'taking the piss'. He seems very, very defensive.
