Anzac Day Mail
Defence welcomes all expressions of public support for Australian Defence Force personnel deployed on overseas operations in the lead up to ANZAC Day.
ANZAC Day is a particularly important time for all members of the Australian community to remember all those, whether service personnel or civilians, of every nation, who suffered or continue to suffer through war. This is especially the case for those deployed Defence and other Australian government agency personnel contributing to peace throughout the world.
Messages to the troops
The best and quickest way to express support is to send a message to the troops at[email protected].
RSL Australian Forces overseas fund
The next best method to show your support to deployed ADF personnel is through the RSL Australian Forces Overseas Fund (AFOF). The AFOF provides packages, twice yearly, to Australian Defence Force and Australian Federal Police personnel serving overseas.
The RSL packages contain various items to remind personnel of home, and include ANZAC biscuits, glucose confectionery, salted peanuts, dried fruit, muesli bars, cake, lollies, a selection of RSL newsletters, a letter of appreciation on behalf of all Australians, RSL State Branch contact details and membership contact details.
Monetary donations will ensure the continuance of the Fund’s activities. Donations can be made through the RSL website, details available at http://www.rsl.org.au/
The ADF is grateful to the RSL AFOF for its contribution to the welfare of serving personnel on behalf of our grateful Nation.
Australian Forces Post Office service
An additional service provided by Defence this year is the establishment of special post office box addresses. For further details about the procedures, please see the ANZAC Day Australian Forces Post Office service page.
