The returned cheque that marked the beginning of the end for Bruce Wilson

This is the cheque that was caught up when Bob Smith froze the AWU accounts held in Victoria.

And here is a new letter, produced at the Royal Commission into Union Governance and Corruption on Monday.

Perhaps someone with experience of banking/law in Victoria in the mid 1990s might comment on the signature and C1771. For my part the handwriting above the signature seems familiar.
