David Langmead, barrister for the Victoria No 3 Branch of the HSU during the "Peter Mac" matter
Saturday, 19 July 2014
David Langmead is a Victorian barrister - you can find his credentials here.
He acted for Kathy Jackson's branch of the HSU in 2003 in relation to the "Peter Mac" matter.
I spoke to him this morning and you can hear his voice below. He told me:
- The union did not receive money that was owed to workers.
- He would not have been involved in any arrangement in which money that was due to workers was paid to the union.
- It is untrue and defamatory to suggest that any union official, officer, legal advisor or other person associated with the union received any money that was due to be paid to workers.
And for the pedants, here is the detailed billing account rendered by the Clerk of Mr Langmead's chambers to the Victoria No 3 Branch of the HSU in relation to the "Peter Mac" matter.
