Maurice Hill has been called to the witness box

Mr Hill has been sworn, he has adopted his witness statement which has been tendered and received into evidence.
Mr Hill is now retired.
He is a former CFMEU official after serving with the BLF and other antecedent unions.
In 1994 he was an officer of the FEDFA.
Mr Stoljar has no questions beyond the introductions. Mr Johns, Counsel for Mr Zaf is now cross examining Mr Hill about an incident that is said to have taken place in 1994 at Mr Zaf's premises.
Mr Hill claims that Mr Zaf produced a pistol and threatened to shoot him.
Mr Hill can't say what sort of a gun, beyond it being a pistol, was produced.
Mr Hill states that no industrial action was taken as a result of the boss at this site allegedly pulling a pistol.
The union for which Mr Hill was an official took no further action relating to the alleged gun-pulling incident.
Mr Hill can't recall where the pistol was "pulled" from. It was just there.
Mr Hill did not call police. He says he made no formal report within the union, he told the office but that was it. There was no news report that Mr Hill can recall.
