Video of ICAC head Megan Latham - ICAC staff get a "free kick, we can go anywhere, it's a lot of fun"
Wednesday, 22 April 2015
This is ICAC head Megan Latham according to ICAC's website:
Commissioner
The Hon Megan Latham
The Hon Megan Latham is the current Commissioner of the Independent Commission Against Corruption. She was appointed for a statutory five-year term in January 2014.
Ms Latham was a judge of the Supreme Court of New South Wales from 2005 to January 2014. From 1998 to 2005 she was a judge of the District Court of New South Wales. From November 1999 until October 2002 she was the part-time Deputy President of the Administrative Decisions Tribunal and Head of the Equal Opportunity Division of that tribunal.
From 1987 to 1994 Ms Latham practised as a crown prosecutor in criminal trials in the District and Supreme Courts. From 1994 to 1996, she was the Director of the Criminal Law Review Division of the Attorney General's Department. From 1996 until her appointment to the bench, she was Crown Advocate for NSW.
And here she is speaking to young barristers at a function in Sydney shortly after she was appointed ICAC Commissioner last year. I'm sure she wishes the video did not exist, particularly given her pursuit of Margaret Cunneen SC. But exist it does and as you will see and hear, Ms Latham brings more than "professionalism" to her job.
