Andrew Bolt's observations about media who hide or fail to report on things that don't suit their agenda

Last Thursday we received a number of comments about a caller to Steve Price and Andrew Bolt's Wednesday, 3 February program on 2GB - http://www.2gb.com/audioplayer/153021.
The caller, Patrick, was trying to draw attention to David Morrison's management of complaints about a sex offender with a criminal interest in young girls who was allowed to work in close proximity with children courtesy of the Army Cadets.
Here are two edited extracts from that night's show - firstly Andrew Bolt's view that some media hide things from you to suit their agenda (Andrew was talking in relation to asylum seekers after interviewing the immigration minister Peter Dutton) - and then the caller Patrick's attempt to talk about the way David Morrison handled the allegations against Williams. the army cadet Paedophile.
When a major institution like the Australian Army allows a convicted felon, fraudster and previously dismissed "not a fit and proper" person to pursue personal gratification by again working with children we all have a problem. We all have a right to know how it happened. Two years after David Morrison sought headlines by saying he would personally oversee an investigation into the Williams allegations we are none the wiser. The Morrison report is still in the "consideration" stage with no final recommendations arising from it.
When someone brings a matter like that to the attention of the news media, it verges on professional negligence to be so dismissive simply because the story was "not invented here".
And for Steve Price who told 2GB's listeners, "I don't intend to allow people to read out what's on Michael Smith's website because I've got no way of checking it, at all" - Let Me Google That For You.
Steve and Andrew, on 7 April 2014 I asked the questions of Defence that the parents of the children asked me. How did Williams get into the Army Cadets after his dismissal and court case involving Air Force Cadets? Why was there no action on complaints various young girls made about him groping them? How did the Army not know he was on bail for serious offences involving grooming a 13 year old girl he worked with at Girl Guides for sex? Why was Defence's initial response to the publication of my stories in The Australian so appallingly inadequate? And now, two years down the track after Morrison and Defence Media ruled a line under further coverage at the time by issuing (and selling-in) an emphatic statement that Morrison had personally intervened and ordered an inquiry into the allegations I raised has there been no progress on reporting?
I cannot understand the media's inattention and incurious dismissal of the story. If it's been improperly reported then please show us where. If the reluctance to talk about it is because I'm involved, then I will happily hand you everything I have and walk away.
I agree with you in your assessment about the ABC and Fairfax Media. You guys were like the last petrol station in the last town on a dark desert highway - running on empty it was always a relief to get to your end of the day and see you were open for business and selling the truth. Don't tell me you've gone too.
