Uthman Badar is back in town to witness Hizb ut-Tahrir's first unsegregated public get-together.
He was scheduled to speak tonight about the fall of the Ottoman Caliphate.
The 3rd of March marks the date of the abolition of the Caliphate. 92 years since its passing, we look back at both the history leading up to its fall, and the reaction of Muslims around the world to this fateful political event.

Here are the details for an urgent Hizb ut-Tahrir gathering tonight, presumably complying with the directives issued yesterday regarding seating arrangements.
Urgent Community Forum
In light of recent reports concerning Hizb ut-Tahrir and a NSW Tribunal ruling on the issue of segregation, Hizb ut-Tahrir Australia would like to announce an important community consultation organised for this evening (Saturday, 05/03/16) at 6pm.
Given the many enquires already fielded from the Muslim community, it is clear this issue, and its legal and political implications, is at the forefront of the community’s thinking.
As Hizb ut-Tahrir is a servant of the Ummah, we would like to take this opportunity to express our position to the community on this matter and to provide a platform where Muslims can directly ask their questions, express their views and extend their support.
The planned lecture commemorating the 92nd anniversary of the destruction of the Khalifah, which was otherwise to have taken place tonight, will be postponed to the following week. Updated details are available on the FB event page.
We thank Allah (swt) for blessing us with our Islam, strengthening us through its noble Aqeedah and magnanimous Shariah. We are blessed to be part of this great Ummah, and we look forward to greeting you at this forum.
