Responses from our fearless House of Representatives MPs on your requests that they deal with Gillard's lies

Michael I have to ask!

I sent an email to Ewen Jones, member for Herbert (NQ) requesting him to raise with the Speaker the matter of Gillard's misleading of Parliament.

I included all the documents (excerpts of TURC findings and the letters from you and the Speaker). I sent it just before Easter and have yet to have an acknowledgement let alone a response.

I am wondering if any of your readers has had a reply from their local member yet. Or is it the case that these mongrels in Parliament simply protect one another regardless of party affiliation, again showing their contempt for the voters who put them there?

Here's a note from Rob to his MP Tony Smith:

Subject: Hansard inaccuracies - urgent

Dear Tony,

Following on from a letter sent to you,  by Mr Michael Smith on 19th February (see below) regarding false statements made and recorded into Hansard by former PM Julia Gillard regarding funding of renovations on her home.

I request that you, as my representative take steps to have these inaccuracies corrected.

After Julia Gillard left the Parliament a Royal Commission found that her story about paying for her home renovations was not truthful - it found that Bruce Wilson directed the builder, settled the invoices and handed over the money to pay for the work.

Hansard is a record of our country's  history and must be corrected.

Sincerely

Robert

And here's the runaround:

Hello Nadia,

Following on from our telephone conversation last Friday you advised me that Tony, as my government representative in the seat of Casey is unwilling to action my request to have Hansard inaccuracies corrected due to his position as speaker.

I explained to you that this leaves me as a resident of Casey as having no representation on this matter. You agreed to respond via email outlining our discussion and to give me other options on how I can get this issue corrected.

I have not received your email as yet. I regard this as urgent.

Sincerely

Rob
