Happy Easter with a lovely and thought-provoking note from the Prime Minister of Israel
Sunday, 16 April 2017
I opened the computer this morning to this lovely message from Prime Minister Netanyahu who always seems to get the timing and tone just right!
Happy Easter from Jerusalem to all our Christian friends around the world!
— Benjamin Netanyahu (@netanyahu) April 15, 2017
Easter is the time when differences between the Jewish and Christian faiths are most to the fore. In the past it's been a time of conflict between the religions.
PM Netanyahu shows us a great example of secularism, getting along, respecting our differences and wishing each other all the best - without wanting to change the other team's way of doing things. There's no need to claim the mantle of the best religion, the one true faith as if religion was like backing a footy team. He gets the tone just right - religion is private, it's personal, it's between you and your God and that's the end of it.
Well it would be except for the perennial pain from Islam.
Compare and contrast Israel's approach with the state-sponsored terrorism and state-funded Islamic marketing material from Israel's Muslim neighbours in Palestine. Jihad doesn't get time off at Easter.
We have to confront Islam and stop it from continuing with its excesses - like the Sharia, the combination of state and church, execution by beheading for non-believers etc etc etc. It's not their fault they keep asking for concessions - it's ours for letting them have them.
Benjamin Netanyahu reminds us today of the proper role one's personal religious choices should take in the modern world.
Wouldn't it be lovely if Islam was like that too?
We can't change Islam. But we can defend our laws, maintain our culture and protect our way of life.
To do that properly means calling Muslims out and stopping them promoting the illegal and unacceptable Mohammedan practices that are currently thread into the fabric of their cultural/political/legal/philosophical and religious movement - ie Islam.
Here are 3 quite recent lost opportunities for us to take a stand for our culture and against clear-cut examples of Islam breaching our laws.
- The two women who made the Hizb ut-Tahrir video promoting assault should have been visited by police and at least cautioned for promoting assault - they haven't been.
- Sheik Shady who promotes rape as a Muslim man's right should have been charged - he hasn't been.
- Ismail al WahWah should have been in jail long ago for continuing Muhammad's call to kill Jews - he hasn't had so much as a tap on the shoulder.
We can stop fighting Islam when it conforms to our laws. When Islam operates within the law like other religions it'll be unremarkable like other religions. Until then it's up to us to stick up for what we believe in, to fight for what's right and to stop what's wrong from happening here. And with Islam there's a lot that's very, very wrong.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his crucifixion and resurrection today Easter Sunday. I believe in giving unto God what is God's and to Caesar what is Caesar's.
Please God give us the strength to stick up for ourselves and what we stand for, just like the Son of Man did all those years ago.
Happy Easter everyone, God bless you and yours and let's keep Australia great - or at least make a bloody big noise when people who aren't like us want to change it.
