Funeral with full police honours tomorrow for the late Senior Constable Brett Forte (1975 - 2017) shot and killed on duty 29 MAY 2017

Australian National Flag to fly at Half-Mast

Wednesday 7 June 2017

Funeral Service with Full Police Honours

Senior Constable Brett Forte (1975 – 2017)

Senior Constable Brett Forte was a serving member of the Queensland Police Service, stationed at the Toowoomba Police Station and passed away (sic - he didn't "pass away", he was shot and killed by an armed offender in the line of duty) on Monday 29 May 2017.

The Queensland Department of Premier and Cabinet advise that a Funeral Service with Full Police Honours will be held at 11 am on Wednesday 7 June 2017 at the Clive Berghofer Recreational Centre, Baker Street, Darling Heights, Queensland.

As a mark of mourning and respect and in accordance with protocol, the Australian National Flag should be flown at half-mast all day on Wednesday 7 June 2017 in Queensland only from all buildings and establishments occupied by Australian Government departments and affiliated agencies. Other organisations are welcome to participate.

In accordance with flag protocol, all flags and ensigns at each flag station should be flown at half-mast during daylight hours. However, should it be the custom to fly the flags of other nations at your flag station, it would be appropriate to seek permission from the diplomatic representatives of that nation to half-mast their flag.

Further information on the protocols for half-masting the Australian National Flag is at http://www.dpmc.gov.au/government/australian-national-flag/australian-national-flag-protocols.

Your assistance is appreciated.
