Kevin Rudd and "My National Apology Foundation". Not quite in the Clinton league Kev.
Saturday, 10 February 2018
Kevin Rudd has been playing dress-ups and getting all prime-ministerial again.
On Friday The Rudd explained:
Next Tuesday will be ten years since the #NationalApology. If your school or community organisation would like a copy of the Apology, please fill out the form on the website of my National Apology Foundation for Indigenous Australians: http://www.nafia.org.au/requests #Apology10 @nafiaorg
So what is "My National Apology Foundation"?
Its internet homepage is a shrine to Rudd.
The latest news section is a shrine to The Rudd.
So you'd hope that the page entitled "Mission Statement" might sort out just exactly what "My National Apology Foundation" does.
Nup. Another shrine to The Rudd.
The first line of the mission statement:
Nothing was more meaningful to former Prime Minister Kevin Rudd in his political life than the reaction of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to the National Apology in February 2008.
And the last line
the Board is currently undertaking consultations with national representative bodies, Link-Up state bodies, leading academics and prominent Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander leaders to garner views on what the work program of the Foundation should be.
Even the most open of minds might start to wonder whether it's really about the apology.
It's not.
It's about Chairman Rudd and his ego.

Chair
The My National Apology Foundation is registered with the Australian Charities and Not-For-Profit Commission - here's a link to its Constitution.
The current trajectory isn't too crash-hot.
It had revenues of $100,079 in 2016.
Last year that had dwindled to $4000.
Not exactly in the Clinton league Kevin!
Five days ago the website published this video message from The Rudd on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the apology. It features prominently on the My Apology Foundation website.
It was published on 5 February this year and I took this screen shot this morning.
It's been watched 7 times. In 5 days.
No prize for guessing who was watching for 5 or 6 of them.
