Latest advice from DFAT, 14 May 2018

On Monday 14 May 2018, a suicide attack was carried out at the Surabaya Police Headquarters causing the death of the four suicide bombers, injuring four police officers and six members of the public. More explosives were found at the scene which failed to detonate. On the evening of 13 May 2018, a home-made bomb was detonated at an apartment complex in Sidoarjo, East Java, resulting in three killed and three injured. Earlier on 13 May 2018 there were bomb attacks at three churches in Surabaya causing multiple deaths and injuries. The level of our advice has not changed. Exercise a high degree of caution in Indonesia, including Bali. Higher levels apply in some parts of the country.
