The Oxford dictionary defines art as:
the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power.
Their ABC apparently disagrees with the bit about the artist using his or her own creative skill and imagination. And appreciating art for its beauty or emotional power isn't on either.
The Oxford dictionary must have overlooked the bit about gender and ethnicity balance - but the ABC hasn't!
Hot on the heels of employing the former Greens candidate Osman Faruqi, their ABC is now policing The Yartz.
You'd have to be in a pretty bad way to turn to Their ABC for your "What should I read next?" advice.
