Is there a boss at the ABC? Can contributors just say what they want?

Are Senators required to record court-ordered debt default judgements on Register of Interests?

I wrote to the very helpful Clerk of the Senate Richard Pye this morning.

I must thank Mr Pye for his speedy and quite helpful response.

The details are here:

Liabilities which may act to create a conflict of interest should be declared.

I'd have thought that a court-ordered judgement against a Senator in the Federal Parliament in favour of a local government entity might have triggered the Senator's personal judgement in favour of registering the interest.

There appears to be an absolute requirement to register liabilities in excess of $10,000.

So should Senator Gichuhi have registered the apparent judgements against her?

She works for you, our readers - what do you think?
