“I’m sure you will join me in saying neoliberalism’s time is done. It is time for the failure to end and if it doesn’t end itself we will end it” - @NadineFloodCPSU chairing a panel on neoliberalism and trickledown economics at #ACTUCongress18 #ChangeTheRules pic.twitter.com/p3FrhRLIF0

What a great night out that'd be!
Wayne Swan and the ACTU discussing neoliberalism and "trickle-down economics".
I had to look them both up:
- Neoliberalism is a modified form of liberalism tending to favor free-market capitalism.
- The term "trickle-down" originated as a joke by humorist Will Rogers and today is often used to criticize economic policies which favor the wealthy or privileged while being framed as good for the average citizen.
So we have Wayne-the-joke-Treasurer discussing a joke about economics while Nadine Flood from the public sector union works out how to dismantle capitalism!
Bewdy Newk!
By the way, here's the damage capitalism has wreaked on poverty.
