This alone should be reason enough to shut the ABC behemoth down. pic.twitter.com/yXSJYc0Nw4
I can understand why we need laws to protect sensitive security intelligence organisations like ASIO- but Rob Messenger raises concerns that go much further than that.
Rob's involved in a workplace related court case. During the course of the matter he met with ASIO (the workplace issue included death threats from Islamist(s)).
ASIO is now invoking the far-reaching protections it enjoys under our security legislation to stop Rob calling the agency to court. Rob's being threatened with serious jail time for just saying he's met with ASIO at all.
You may recall ASIO's chief telling a public parliamentary committee hearing that there was no link between refugees and terrorism. ASIO is not immune from incompetence and its given itself plenty of cause for criticism - hiding behind its legislated confidentiality protections only compounds its problems.
@mpsmithnews Michael, I thought you may be interested in our bind. Speaks to broader principles re ASIO powers, their attitude to the Courts & effectiveness of ASIO "ISIS monitoring" policy which currently has left hundreds of terror supporters in Australian communities #auspol pic.twitter.com/cpV6okZkQI

No vilification because Muslim/Islam is not a race - but a frightening insight into how much legal drama one person can kick up over the public discussion of ideas.

How many employees do you reckon work for Hardie Grant books?
Hope they have more luck than last time Chairman Mal was in a manuscript mood - from "Rise of the Ruddbot" by Annabel Crabb.
