The purpose of this letter is to give you a decision about access to documents that you requested under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (FOI Act).
On 22 February you requested:
I seek all cables, emails, telephone records and other communications regarding President Trump and allegations that Russian interests interfered in the 2016 US presidential election, including any communications from, about, to or involving Alexander Downer.
I am an officer authorised under section 23 of the FOI Act to make decisions in relation to FOI requests.
In making my decision I have taken into account your request, the FOI Act, and the guidelines issued by the Australian Information Commissioner under s93A of the FOI Act.
After considering the terms of your request, I have decided neither to confirm nor deny the existence of any document relevant to your request, as provided for in section 25(1) of the FOI Act. This letter is therefore a notice provided under s2S(2) of the FOI Act.
