Qld premier "will ALLOW you to visit your mum on Mothers' Day". Like it's her gift.

Gee this sits horribly with me.
"We will be allowing you to visit........"
Do we really elect parliamentary representatives to "allow" us to visit our mothers? Like it's a concession, or privilege in return for good behaviour?
Perhaps The Premier wouldn't have jarred so much had she said there's no ongoing justification for the lockdown and as a result, it's now appropriate to ease the restrictions.
But the idea of our elected governments "allowing" us to see our mothers as some kind of reward is just bloody awful.
From Mother's Day on Sunday, we're easing restrictions to allow up to five people from a household to visit another household.

This means families can visit their Mum on Sunday, bring her some flowers or a gift.#COVID19Aus #MothersDay pic.twitter.com/8T9NdDpuKn
