Joe has notes on his rostrum. I thought that was a no no.
Posted by: Testing | Wednesday, 30 September 2020 at 11:14 AM
If Trumo keeps interrupting as he has in the first ferw minutes, he'll lose it.
Posted by: Cliff | Wednesday, 30 September 2020 at 11:19 AM
Poor Old Joe already copping a hiding
Posted by: masalai | Wednesday, 30 September 2020 at 11:20 AM
another debacle with both sides talking over each other and the moderator [sic]
hopeless!
Posted by: Declan | Wednesday, 30 September 2020 at 11:21 AM
Trump is being bombastic. Biden is doing Ok by comparison. Wish Trump would let Biden finish and then counter. Media will be rating Biden as the winner at this rate.
Posted by: FSH | Wednesday, 30 September 2020 at 11:30 AM
Biden with a few micro naps already. 90mins no breaks, good luck old man.
Posted by: underminder | Wednesday, 30 September 2020 at 11:30 AM
the moderator is showing his leftist leaning by lacing his questions to the President with venom & malice meanwhile Biden gets nice easy ones according to his cheat sheet on his rostrum.
barely even handed!
Posted by: Declan | Wednesday, 30 September 2020 at 11:30 AM
He couldn't help but chuckle when Trump said no-one goes to Biden's rally's.
Posted by: underminder | Wednesday, 30 September 2020 at 11:41 AM
You're right. Biden is looking down at them all the time.
Posted by: Waterboy | Wednesday, 30 September 2020 at 11:47 AM
Media will rate Biden the winner anyway!
Posted by: CountryBumpkin | Wednesday, 30 September 2020 at 12:02 PM
The only similarity to the pussy affairs that pass for political debate in australia is they both have leftist moderators. Keep sticking it up him, Donald

Biden wants to build 500,000 charging stations for electric cars but there will be far more electric cars on the road in a few years, people will have to wait a long time to charge them.
Posted by: Philip | Wednesday, 30 September 2020 at 12:24 PM
I agree he interrupts too much, even in the dedicated talk time.
Trump regrettably can't help himself, like he has to get in the last word.
Posted by: Philip | Wednesday, 30 September 2020 at 12:26 PM
Moderator seems biased against Trump.
Posted by: Philip | Wednesday, 30 September 2020 at 12:27 PM
Biden thinks he'll create a million green jobs - but neglects to mention at the cost of 10 million+ lost jobs
Posted by: Peter G | Wednesday, 30 September 2020 at 12:27 PM
So hard to watch as the the moderator is not impartial.
Joe talks like a lying politician.
Donald speaks from the heart I believe.
Posted by: Beef | Wednesday, 30 September 2020 at 12:28 PM
I thought the debate on the subject of climate change was between Wallace and Trump.
Wallace was bloody hopeless.
Posted by: Jeff of FNQ | Wednesday, 30 September 2020 at 12:40 PM
Cliff,
Agree. I have just finished the debate and Trump over-talking comes across as bad.
Posted by: Graeme Weber | Wednesday, 30 September 2020 at 12:40 PM
You mean wait till the sun comes up or the wind blows?
If Biden has any comprehension of Base Load, he must have an undeclared agenda in Nuclear power - AOC will be pissed!
Road rage will play out at the charger queues!
Imagine a black market in truck mounted diesel gensets operating at truck stops.
Posted by: tomdundas | Wednesday, 30 September 2020 at 12:44 PM
I wonder what "wonder" drug they have given to Joe- he is able to string a few words together without hesitating (even though he obviously has the help of notes on his rostrum)!
Correct observations about "the Donald". He does himself no favours when he becomes bombastic but then again that is his style i suppose.

Trump will win in November. It is over.
Posted by: Truth_Will_Out | Wednesday, 30 September 2020 at 12:57 PM
Trump way way too aggro and lacked courtesy. That played into Biden's hands.
Posted by: Richard | Wednesday, 30 September 2020 at 01:09 PM
I want to know where you get hold of the medicine that is obviously kept very secret that brings you back from the dead - right at the opening Sleepy Joe said that there were thousands of people dead and the ones that recovered, yep we know what he probably meant but his brain aint firing on all cylinders.
Posted by: Rankin | Wednesday, 30 September 2020 at 01:09 PM
Totally agree - at one point even Trump said Oh Im debating you now, every time Biden got into strife the so called moderator jumped in
Posted by: Rankin | Wednesday, 30 September 2020 at 01:11 PM
What a bun fight that was!!!
Posted by: Julie of Geelong | Wednesday, 30 September 2020 at 01:25 PM
Yes agree about Trumpie.
He does come across as a bit of a bully at times.
I know it’s his style, but needs to pull back a bit
- he will not win over any votes if he continues this way!!
Posted by: Julie of Geelong | Wednesday, 30 September 2020 at 01:31 PM
The moderator is an ass
Posted by: Bshit | Wednesday, 30 September 2020 at 01:33 PM
Always suspected the old thing is an act to avoid scrutiny. Perfect cover. Dumb old guy. Nothing to see here?
Posted by: Julie | Wednesday, 30 September 2020 at 01:41 PM
To win Trump had to force Biden into forgetting his lines by being his usual bombastic bullying self. To win Biden just had to stay somewhat with it. Trump didn't win but Biden did.
Posted by: FSH | Wednesday, 30 September 2020 at 01:54 PM
You're right.
I'm a Trump supporter, but thought his performance was terrible.
If the debates are going to be the difference between winning or losing the election then Biden will be the next President.
Then god help us all.
Posted by: Waterboy | Wednesday, 30 September 2020 at 01:55 PM
Whatever that "medicine" is it certainly worked on "dearly departed" Joe, or has he been putting on a "seniors moments" act all this time to give Trump a false sense of security with the debates looming?
Posted by: Jacktar | Wednesday, 30 September 2020 at 02:14 PM
I think Biden is hopelessly eased exposed on trying to defend his son Hunter. And if he says "here's the deal" at the start of more than 2 more sentences, there will be vomiting everywhere.
He went for sympathy by admitting the cocaine habit, which he said affects a lot of Ameriacan families. Maybe true but not all families have a dad who can borrow the AirForce 2 jet and Secret Service detail and go on a recuperative world trip to promote his funds management business which 2 other guys setup )but there dad's weren't VP). Hunter is a n Achilles heel and Biden needs to choose to condemn him or eschew the presidency. How to do that graciously would be an exceptional feat.
Trump will be able to build on this weakness as a theme in next few weeks both in his speeches and the 2 debates.
Not sure how Pence and Harris will shape up. Pence will certainly reassure the base (and any that might have been taken aback by the brawling) that his is a good backup, compare to radical Harris or alcoholic Pelosi should Biden falter early, if elected.
Trump might have been better to be more polite but then again, is the country worth fighting for or not? Biden was highly disrespectful and running with the debunked story of the perfectly valid reasons for not going to the war cemetery was disgraceful, and comparing school teacher tax return to a complex business return was just a cheap shot almost everyone will understand, though fewer will acknowledge.
Trumps team have 4 weeks to clarify a lot of this. He did not explain well a few points such as the way taxes work or why it was important to fill all those judicial vacancies.
I think Trump did well on the mail in voting fraud issue, with a better way of distinguishing the mass mailing system to the more orderly on request process, not unlike our postal vote.
I get impression each state does its own voting system and we are going to be waiting weeks or months to have a clear result, if we ever get one. I can readily see some people selling their votes to partisans. So the new Supreme Court Bench will have a big job to ultimately sort this out after Inauguration Day.
As I understand it the if. The election process found to be flawed, it reverts to a type of Electoral college of delegates from all States based on House seats, voting on state by state basis. Only 26 states required to win on this basis. Unless Republican states swing massively to Dems, which I simply cannot see happening, the House will look pretty much like it does today. so Trump would be reelected shortly after Inauguration Day.
Impeachment proceedings would then ensue ad nauseum if Democrats still control house numerically, so we better pray that the Senate remains Republican.
It will be a big distraction unfortunately but media will love it. As with this term there were people who wanted to reject the Electoral College process, which brilliantly protects their republic.

I agree, and this just confirms it, Hispanics love Trump, 66% say he won the debate, at the last election Hillary got 66%, that is a major turn around, if those figures are correct he should win comfortably. https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2020/09/huge-hispanic-voters-telemundo-say-president-trump-overwhelmingly-won-debate-66-34/

Trump should have gone in with a very large photo of a solar farm after a hail storm that would have instantly shut down biden and his alternate energy.
Posted by: Philip | Wednesday, 30 September 2020 at 03:19 PM
Thought I would look at the 'comments' before spending time watching the 'debate' - seems it was more a 'debacle'!
Don't think I'll bother after reading comments.
Did either Biden or Trump deal with their philosophies and why their policies were important for the recovery of America from Covid-19 Plandemic?
Hmmmm.... I think the voters are going to have to search out such matters themselves. God help the American people!
Posted by: Betty Luks | Wednesday, 30 September 2020 at 03:21 PM
After in an interview the moderator claimed there was no evidence about mail in votes being a problem,he obviously did not see the project veritas article
Posted by: Philip | Wednesday, 30 September 2020 at 03:22 PM
I get the sense that the gloves are of as far as Trump is concerned, he said as much at one of his rallies a few weeks ago when the democrats put out a rather nasty and untrue advertisement of Trump calling the troops/military "losers", I think that really hurt him, as Trump loves the troops and has done so much for them. I think he is going to come out punching hard in every debate, he has had to cop so much crap over the past 4 years, I think he has finally had enough.

The green jobs are only temporary. Those jobs cease after the solar farms are built and the wind turbines are erected. They might need someone to clean the panels and that's it.
If solar is installed on house rooftops as in Australia, again those jobs are only temporary until the installation program runs its course. I don't know if the US will subsidise their installation as in Australia.

Biden's whole extended family is his weakness. When he was VP, he was the gatekeeper that opened the doors for them to see various heads of the White House departments and get their schemes off and running.
Biden doesn't use a Foundation like the Clinton Foundation to get the contracts; he uses his family, and I'd wouldn't be surprised if there was a kickback to him.

Fox News host Chris Wallace, a registered Democrat, faced intense backlash on Tuesday night for what was widely deemed as bias in the debate in the favor of Democrat Joe Biden and against Republican President Donald Trump.
One of the issues that Wallace was called out for the most was how he appeared to let Biden interrupt Trump but would jump in to interrupt Trump when Trump would talk over Biden.
Fox News host Brian Kilmeade even noted the discrepancy and called it out on social media, writing: “Why is @JoeBiden allowed to interrupt? @realDonaldTrump is not.”
Fox News contributor Andy McCarthy wrote: “I love Chris Wallace, but he should get out of the way.”
McCarthy added: “Biden doesn’t support the Green New Deal. Oh, Wallace got that out of him? No, Trump did. Oh, well, did Wallace clarify what’s parts of Green New Deal Biden is against? No, needed to move on …”
Fox News host Greg Gutfeld said that it was “not good” when Wallace reportedly laughed with Biden.
Bill O’Reilly, who used to be a colleague of Wallace’s, wrote on Twitter: “Good line from Trump—he tells Chris Wallace he’s debating him, not Joe.”
O’Reilly added: “Chris Wallace doesn’t have the facts at his command about the Ukraine payments made to Biden’s son that Trump brought up. Big mistake by Mr. Wallace.”
Attorney Harmeet Dhillon wrote on Twitter: “Chris Wallace is a disgrace. Republicans need to stop allowing the slanted media to have any role in debates in future years.”
Chris Wallace is a disgrace. Republicans need to stop allowing the slanted media to have any role in debates in future years.
Actor James Woods wrote on Twitter: “Chris Wallace is shamelessly biased. It’s a beautiful demonstration of fake news in action. I’m actually glad it’s happening, because you can see it for yourself.”
Journalist Yashar Ali, who was Hillary Clinton’s co-chair on her 2008 presidential campaign, wrote on Twitter that there was “no doubt” that “Wallace is not doing a good job as a debate moderator.”
Question…Chris Wallace is not doing a good job as debate moderator…no doubt about that. But in terms of Trump's repeated interrupting would another moderator have handled it better? Without the ability to mute a microphone, what could another moderator have done?
Newsweek editor Josh Hammer wrote on Twitter: “Just an inexcusable effort tonight from Chris Wallace. And I say that as someone who is generally a fan of his.”
Federal co-founder Sean Davis wrote on Twitter: “Chris Wallace is now reading Biden’s energy plan back to him to remind Biden what’s in his plan. I have never, never seen anything like this from a moderator.”
Davis added: “Chris Wallace is making very clear that his goal tonight is to run interference for Joe Biden. If he wants to be a deranged NeverTrumper, that’s his prerogative, but Wallace is doing everything in his power to tilt the election toward his preferred candidate. Everyone can see it.”
Ben Shapiro wrote on Twitter: “Chris Wallace, over the course of the night, has moved from moderator to debater.”

A couple a observations...
Why did Biden require a pen? There is a news pic (which I can’t copy) showing him pen in had making a statement to camera towards the close..
At the close of debate, either studio or staff member quickly removed script from Biden’s lectern as he was greeting his wife.
Wallace was a complete failure and taunting Trump to distract from Biden, allowing sleepy Joe to regain his thoughts (if there were any)
Trumps tactic of trying to throw Biden off track by interjecting misfired due to intervention by Wallace.
Many years ago (in sales) I was taught that in negotiating a close, the first who talks looses.....Trump prides himself as the negotiator and knows this all too well, but got lost in the two way fight with Wallace. He did however extract some good points for Pence to expose Harris on with her socialist/green left policies next week...

What is he going to charge them with? has no one the brains to see they cannot make the blasted cars, batteries or wind turbines without coal and mining nightly toxic minerals, laying waste to land and apart from using child slave labour causing Teri Le health injuries.
And at the end of their short life span, how do you get rid of them? They are not recyclable, just imagine the huge amount of land to be dug up-to bury these. massive wing spans and toxic solar panels.
They better start thinking very soon.

There is always a strategy in play when it comes to politics, the 'bombastic' nature of the debate and Trump could it have been to confuse sleepy old Joe and to interrupt the transmission...
This is only a meme but it may have some truth in it..

Trump got out what he wanted to relay to the people and to show up the bias on the other side..
The debate was just another political script and act one must go through in American politics.. it is like a circus at the best of times and at the worst it is even more animated.. Sometimes you just have to play the game while you know the full truth within but can't let on to others what you know as you don't want to let the secrets out before the action steps are taken.. love and light xx
