Federal Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese has been taken to hospital after a car accident in Sydney’s Inner West.

The 57-year-old was involved in what appears to be a two-car crash on Hill Street in Marrickville on Friday afternoon.

A spokesperson for Albanese told 7NEWS.com.au he was “heavily shaken” but “okay”.

He was treated at the scene and later taken to hospital for precautionary X-rays.

Albanese was alone in the car.
