Bill Thompson Outside Insiders as Therapeutic Albanese has 'his girl' open the car door for him.

Part One - where The People's Man, Therapeutic Albanese snubs Bill.

And here's Bill with more:;;;

I walked back to the ABC Southbank studios later in the morning, to see if I could chat with Albo again, on his departure - and, lo, it came to pass! (Note that my carbon footprint for the morning was VASTLY lower than this AGW hypocrite's!) BTW, speaking of hypocrisy, how dare an old, entitled, white man let/expect a downtrodden female staffer open/close the car door for him???

Bit of traffic in Ottawa - might be hard to get a park for a while.

Meanwhile.....might have to wait for this bloke to slither out of his hidey-hole.

Biden who stuffed US energy independence lectures the world on energy security

“We call on all major energy producer countries to join us in ensuring world energy markets are stable and well-supplied.”

Screen Shot 2022-01-29 at 8.31.47 am

We are jointly committed to Europe’s energy security and sustainability and to accelerating the global transition to clean energy. We also share the objective of ensuring the energy security of Ukraine and the progressive integration of Ukraine with the EU gas and electricity markets.

The EU and the United States cooperate closely on energy policy, decarbonization and security of supply in the U.S.-EU Energy Council. The EU’s and the United States’ commitments to meet the goals of the Paris Agreement, through clean energy, in particular renewables, energy efficiency, and technologies, provide a path to energy security and reduced dependence on fossil fuels. The current challenges to European security underscore our commitment to accelerating and carefully managing the transition from fossil fuels to clean energy.

Over the last decade, the EU has invested in diversification of supply through infrastructure and reinforcement of its internal energy networks, increasing the resilience and flexibility of EU energy markets. The European Commission will intensify work with Member States for security of supply, within transparent and competitive gas markets in a manner compatible with long-term climate goals and reaching net-zero emissions by 2050.

While that process intensifies during this critical decade, we are committed to working closely together to overcome today’s challenges of security of supply and high prices in energy markets.

We commit to intensifying our strategic energy cooperation for security of supply and will work together to make available reliable, and affordable energy supplies to citizens and businesses in the EU and its neighborhood.

The United States and the EU are working jointly towards continued, sufficient, and timely supply of natural gas to the EU from diverse sources across the globe to avoid supply shocks, including those that could result from a further Russian invasion of Ukraine. The United States is already the largest supplier of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to the EU. We are collaborating with governments and market operators on supply of additional volumes of natural gas to Europe from diverse sources across the globe. LNG in the short-term can enhance security of supply while we continue to enable the transition to net zero emissions. The European Commission will work for improved transparency and utilization of LNG terminals in the EU.

We intend to work together, in close collaboration with EU Member States, on LNG supplies for security of supply and contingency planning. We will also exchange views on the role of storage in security of supply.

More broadly, we call on all major energy producer countries to join us in ensuring world energy markets are stable and well-supplied. This work has already started, and we will take it forward at the meeting of the U.S.-EU Energy Council on February 7.

Message from a cop mate

What don’t you see in this picture? You don’t see rioting, you don’t see burning of buildings and protests, you don’t see TV shows and people cancelled because they don’t follow a certain narrative. What you see is family. Yeah, those are all heroes! A family that is being attacked because they are literally protecting you and the things you cherish most. Speak out and show your support. If your eyes are closed to the fact that the attacks on our first responders are being sensationalized and motivated by the media and those wanting to create chaos, where the criminals are being idolized, try doing without these thousands of NYPD heroes in this picture mourning the loss of a brother ambushed and killed doing his fucking job. When are you going to wake up? How many heroes or for that matter you or your family members have to be attacked for you to realize the problem? Officer Jason Rivera had less than 1 year on the NYPD when he was murdered. Godspeed heroes! Makes me sick to my stomach.

Sweden decides against vaccinating 5-11 year olds

Screen Shot 2022-01-29 at 5.15.24 am

Sweden's health authority said Thursday that it would not recommend COVID-19 vaccinations for all children aged five to 11, the country again choosing a different coronavirus policy than much of Europe.

The Scandinavian country, which controversially opted against any form of lockdown or school closures during the pandemic's early days, recommended jabs only for children who were at risk.

"The vaccines are safe, there are very good vaccines but we are now focusing on the medical benefits of the individual child and we don't see that the benefits are great enough for us to recommend for the whole group," Britta Bjorklund of the Public Health Agency said.

"We don't see that we want to vaccinate a whole group of children for the sake of society," she said.

"We want to see a clear benefit for the children themselves and the individual child so that's why we don't recommend it at the moment."

ABC's Virginia Trioli, just back from paid holiday, bitching she needs another holiday

It's only January 29 and I've never felt so tired.

The year hasn't even started and it's hard to find a person who doesn't feel completely cooked.

If you're one of what I suspect is a small, outlying group of people who have come back bouncing with renewed energy from summer break, then go and stand over there. The rest of us, feeling more wrung out than we did at the end of Pandemic Year II, don't want to hear a word out of you.

I have absolutely no right to complain, of course. I recently came back from holidays — something that hundreds of nurses and doctors in their suffocating, bruising PPE or their frightened patients haven't managed to do. They're the ones with first dibs on official exhaustion.

And yet utter malaise, mental emptiness and a very strong feeling that I need a … holiday seem to be my vacation achievements.
