Happy Birthday 1st Regiment, Royal Australian Artillery. Ubique.

73 years young! On 25 May 1949 the 1st Field Regiment was raised at North Head in Sydney, New South Wales, becoming the only regular artillery regiment in the Australian Army at that time. The unit draws its lineage from the 1st Field Artillery Brigade who fought in the First World War at Gallipoli and the Western Front, and from the 2/1st Field Regiment who fought in the Second World War, primarily in North Africa and Papua New Guinea.

Today marks 73 years of the Premier Regiment proudly serving our nation, both at home and abroad, in peace and at war.

And we remain as lethal as ever!
