ABC Melbourne’s morning show host Virginia Trioli has suffered the largest ratings fall of any radio program in the Victorian capital, losing almost a quarter of her audience during the recent election campaign and its aftermath.

Trioli, who also shares hosting duties on ABC’s Thursday night chat show Q+A, saw her listenership share drop 1.9 percentage points this survey period — which ran from April 17 through to June 25 — leaving her in fifth position in her timeslot with an audience share of 7.5 per cent, down from 9.4.

It is the second big slump in Trioli’s ratings this year — in the first ratings survey of the year, the Melburnian’s audience share slipped by 4.4 percentage points.

Trioli’s main rival, 3AW’s Neil Mitchell, grew his audience by 1.5 percentage points from 17.5 to 19 to remain in top spot in the timeslot.
