NSW 'Minister for Nothing-Important' Rob Stokes quits, thankfully.

One of the Premier State’s most ambitiously dangerous left wingers Rob Stokes is thankfully quitting.

Stokes has some weird views of the world which he hides behind his otherwise beige persona.

He’s a believer in an environmental utopia that replaces cars with pushbikes and sees arterial roads painted green as an imposing gesture to stop people driving.

Stokes and Boy Minister Matt Kean have made it their second ministerial role, to push the Liberal Party so far to the left that it becomes unrecognisable to regular people.

Stokes was ambitious to become Premier and when it wasn’t going to happen, he threw the toys out of the cot and took on a bullshit portfolio “Minister for Active Transport” after near grinding NSW to a halt as planning Minister.

He was often quoted in Sydney Morning Herald articles as “senior Liberal source”, unless Matt Kean had beaten him to the job.

Around the Parliament he became known as the Minister for Leaks and Undermining.

Fair to say, few will miss him.

Australia's TGA approves Pfizers's COVID-19 vaccine for 6 month old babies

Screen Shot 2022-09-30 at 12.53.45 pm

On 29 September 2022, the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) provisionally approved a paediatric dose of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine, COMIRNATY (tozinameran), for children aged 6 months to less than 5 years. As seen with older age groups, it is expected that vaccines for younger children will provide protection from the most severe COVID-19 outcomes, such as hospitalisation and death.

This decision follows provisional approval for the use of COMIRNATY for immunisation as a primary course to prevent COVID-19 in individuals 5 years and older on 3 December 2021, and as a booster dose in individuals 5 years and older on 20 September 2022. This paediatric vaccine is made in the same way as the vaccines for older persons, however, it contains a lower amount of active ingredient (3 micrograms).

In making this regulatory decision, the TGA carefully considered data from an ongoing clinical study conducted in the United States. The study, which included over 4500 participants aged 6 months to 5 years, demonstrated that the immune response to the vaccine was similar to that seen in children aged 5 to 12 years. The study also showed that the safety profile in children was similar to that seen in adults with observed side effects being mild.

The decision to provisionally approve the vaccine was also informed by expert advice from the Advisory Committee on Vaccines, an independent committee with expertise in scientific, medical and clinical fields including consumer representation. The Australian Public Assessment Report for this decision will be published in the coming days.

As with all COVID-19 vaccines, the Government’s decision on the use of this vaccine in this age group will be informed by advice from the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI).

UPDATE - and this from 2021, thanks to G Sahathevan:

Why did NSW Police threaten to shut down Nigel Farage event?

Two days before Nigel Farage was to speak in Sydney, a public servant (not a police officer) called up warning they had assessed there would be trouble from protestors.

As a result he was "required" to hire NSW Police to protect his private event.

They called it "user paid policing".

If he didn't pay, they'd shut him down .. "prevented from proceeding by NSW law" said the bureaucrat.

It's the new NSW Free Speech Tax, charged to conservatives who upset leftist pigs.

Ironically, other than the thousand who wanted to hear Farage ... and a few dozen police ... not one protestor could be seen.

Does NSW's self described conservative Premier Dominic Perrottet support this act of intimidation?

Farage rightly says, if this happened in the UK it would be front page news ... the public and the media would be outraged.

In modern Australia, only one media outlet covered the situation.
