Many of their candidates have a history of anti-vax conspiracies, climate denialism, misogyny, homophobia, and rorting. DONATE NOW Here’s just a sample of the candidates that the Liberals and Nationals have running in this election: Matt Squires - Liberal candidate for Wyong Matt Squires was recently disendorsed by the Liberal Party for homophobic and Islamophobic comments he was making on social media – most of which are too offensive to repeat in this email. Matt will still appear as a Liberal candidate on the ballot paper on Saturday and has committed to continue campaigning against “woke ideologues.” Ash Barnham - Nationals candidate for Cessnock Ash Barnham thinks that countries that have given women the right to vote have gone backwards. He also has a social media history of offensive material about the LGBTQI+ and Jewish communities. Ash has been disendorsed by the National Party but remains on the ballot paper as the National Party candidate for Cessnock. Bill Burst - Liberal Candidate for Maroubra Bill Burst has an extensive history of promoting misleading information about COVID vaccines including the debunked effectiveness of Ivermectin pushed by Craig Kelly. He also described Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk  as a “baby killer”. Bill continues to be the endorsed Liberal candidate for Maroubra. Peta Pinson - Nationals candidate for Port Macquarie Peta, the Mayor of Port Macquarie, is a sceptic when it comes to man-made climate change. She told a candidates forum last month that her scepticism about man-made climate change had solidified and she is not convinced because there is alternate information. She remains the endorsed Nationals candidate for Port Macquarie. Comrade, these kinds of views have no place in our Parliament. Dominic Perrottet himself has professed some of the most extreme views of any NSW Premier: Dominic Perrottet said that action on climate change is a “gratuitous waste”. He said that “just because you question man made climate change, you’re not a climate sceptic.” Dominic Perrottet believes the welfare state is destroying families. He said that “the welfare state was acting as a substitute for families, crowding out its formation and increasing the rate of divorce.” Dominic Perrottet celebrated the election of Donald Trump. Following the election of Trump, Perrottet posted on Facebook saying, “it’s time for a conservative spring”. But despite these backwards views and the chaos and neglect that he's inflicted as Premier, the latest poll out yesterday shows that Perrottet's popularity has grown. Comrade, if there was ever a time to dig deep so we can urgently stop the Liberals and Nationals, it’s now. Can you chip in to keep these extremists out of power?
